Sorry for being late in give our report in OGIP 2011!!!
For anyone who hasn't known before, the Opening Ceremony of Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Intellectual Parade 2010 has been done in December 18th 2010 and this event will be keep going until March 2011!! :D
Started with opening ceremony by Mr. Swastioko Budhi Suryanto, head of Komunitas Migas Indonesia (KMI) and followed A wonderful talkshow titled "Gas and Geothermal: Chance, Investment, Policy, and Challenge in Indonesia".

This event is moderated by Mr. Joi Surya Dharma, Staff in Energy Commission of the Parliament and Mr. Hendra Tahulending Chairman of Seksi Mahasiswa of IATMI (Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers) UPN Yogyakarta.

And not only stop in this event, in January 15th 2011, Located at FTM Seminary Room, "Developing Emotional Intellegence to Reach the Bright Future in Petroleum Industry" focus on "Dealing in Walk in Interview and Achieving Career Goals" seminary of OGIP 2011 has been held.
The participant comes from various major and university and also representatives from various student organizations in Petroleum Engineering Department of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.

A professional AudienceAfter opening the session ended, Mr. Sugembong CF as the chaiman of SPE Java Section giving a speech and awarding gold standard award and outstanding award from SPE International to Dwi Hermanto as president of SPE UPNVY SC period of 2009-2010. Outstanding award is given to 7 best student chapter represent each region. SPE UPNVY SC received outstanding awards representing Asia Pacific region. This award is the result of hard work and good teamwork over the years. This is a motivation for SPE UPNVY SC to continue this achievement.
At 9:32 am the event continued with a brief presentation about the SPE member followed by coffee break during the first 15 minutes before the presentation begins.
First presentation immediately opened by education background of Mr. Sugembong CF,
then Mr. sugembong told how to be the best candidate, by recognizing the strength and weakness and develop it into become our self strength to force ourself to be someone that company needs. The next step is the development of emotional intelligence and leadership. And the steps that must be owned to prepare ourselves. Participants were very enthusiastic during the question and answer session.
The second presentation by Mr. Yunanto Cahyo P. (GFE-Wireline of Schlumberger) describes the importance of clarify the objectives that we want to achiev. He said after we decide specific goals, we can make the way to reach it clearly. Setting the goal with Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time-Bound (SMART). In this second session, participants were also quite enthusiastic in responding to the material presented.
This seminary is expected to be a medium that facilitates the development of soft skills in preparing students to be professionals who can compete in the oil and gas industry.
And Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Intellectual Parade 2011 still run and run!!
In February we will hold an Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Field Study in Pertamina Geothermal Energy Kamojang and Pertamina EP Cirebon then we will do a great thing, put OGIP Flag on one of highest mountain in Java Island Indonesia.
Many activities will be done before we reach March, the final event of OGIP 2011. And we are inviting all of you, to join the Asia Pacific Student Competition and the Final Event of OGIP itself in March 2011. :)
